Cardiff Cycle City are coordinating a Cycle on the Senedd to call for a doubling of investment in active travel. We will be calling on Assembly Members to back our call for £20.00 per head to be invested in safe and convenient walking and cycling so that Wales can start to enjoy all the health, environmental and economic benefits that we were promised in the Active Travel Act.

The event is being supported by cycle groups across Wales, including Beicio Bangor, Carmarthenshire Cycle Forum, CTC North Wales and Wheelwrights, as well as organisations like

  • British Heart Foundation
  • British Lung Foundation
  • Friends of the Earth Cymru
  • Oxfam Cymru
  • Sustrans Cymru
  • Welsh Cycling
  • WWF Cymru.

We need as many people to attend as possible, to make it clear that significant investment in cycling is required to make a difference to our streets. With this in mind everyone should sign up to our Eventbrite event, to show the high level of support.

Please join us on the steps of the Senedd on Tuesday 2 October at 1pm to lobby AMs from all parties. Bring your bike!

Please share this far and wide, on social media you can use the hashtag #CycleOnTheSenedd

Cardiff Cycle City is run by volunteers. If you have any time or skills that you think would benefit our cause then please get in touch!

  1. Hi All and Hi Cardiff!

We just wanted to chime in and say we are extremely proud of what you are doing and will, from our side, send a newsletter out to make our followers and fans aware of the #CycleonthSenedd!

Cycling investment is needed so we can all participate in a healthier, active and thrilling life. This starts top down, and by providing the facilities we are more than sure with our studies that people will engage, people will take part and people will cycle!

For anyone reading this, register, show your support and come see us on Tuesday 2nd October! Some of the team will be there.

Lets deliver on these promises and lets take part towards a brighter future.

    1. We don’t have the resources to marshall an official ride, but we do encourage groups to ride down together in a show of solidarity!

We would be happy to support anyone who wants to arrange an official parade, you can contact us at
