Last Wednesday of every month we get together in Ride My Bike cafe from 6.00pm for a couple of hours. Sometimes we’ll have stuff on, other times we’ll just be plotting and eating cake!
This month we’ve got one of our founder members, Dafydd Trystan, talking about his experiences of trying to make a new 21st Century school into an active travel school.
Dafydd is the Chair of Governors at Ysgol Hamadryad and has managed to set up the new school with a car exclusion zone, walking buses, travel planning and a range of other sustainability initiative
He gave a talk about his experiences and the battle with the unhelpful guidance for 21st Century schools at the last Assembly Cross Party Group on the Active Travel Act, and received rave reviews.
We believe there are lots of lessons we can learn from his experiences, so come along and find out!
