Cycling Award Ceremony

Introducing the Cardiff Cycle City Cardiff Cycling Awards

We all know there are some good things happening in Cardiff to make life easier for people on bikes but there’s still a lot that needs to improve.  So we thought we would try and raise the profile of some of the issues, good and bad, by having an awards ceremony – everybody else seems to have one!  We’re really pleased that I Loves the Diff are supporting the awards and they even have their own special award.

It’s meant to be fun as well as raising a few serious issues so we’re combining the presentation of the awards with the Cardiff Cycle City Christmas party in Ride My Bike Cafe on Wednesday 19th December at 6.00pm.  We’re expecting a lot of people and places are strictly limited, so you’re advised to book early. You can get a free ticket here.

The Awards

Cycling Trophy

As these are the first ever Cardiff Cycling Awards, we’re trying to keep things simple, so there are just five categories:

  • Award 1.  Biggest Contribution to improving Cycling in Cardiff
  • Award 2.  Cardiff School doing most to encourage cycling to school
  • Award 3.  Worst pothole in Cardiff
  • Award 4.  Worst junction for cyclists in Cardiff
  • Award 5.  I Loves the Diff’s Most Cycle Friendly Business

The first stage is to collect nominations for each of the categories.  You can make your nominations and get more information on the categories here.  Nominations will close at 12.00 noon on 27th November.

Once we’ve tallied up your proposals, we will publish the top five nominations in each of the categories and ask people to vote for the winners.
